- Combined format: A combined format lays emphasis on your skills and experience first, followed by the employment history. The advantage of this type of a format is that you can draw attention to the skills that are relevant to the job in question and at the same time make available the chronological work history preferred by the employers. Why it is called a combined format is because it uses a career profile, which is a functional style of listing relevant skills and achievements. It then proceeds to detail educational and work history in reverse chronological order.

- Mini Resume: A Mini resume includes a brief summary of your career highlights. It is generally used for the purpose of networking or shared upon request by a prospective employer who may want to have an overview of your achievements and acquired skills rather than a detailed resume.
