Pahalgam Pahalgam is at an altitude of 2,130 meters above sea level, 96 km east of Srinagar. Pahalgam Kashmir’s top tourist attraction during summer, Pahalgam has many attraction of its own like pretty walks, beautiful 18 hole golf course, trout fishing, white water rafting, trekking, hiking and breath taking sight-seeing and much more. Pahalgam has within it no fewer than eight tiny villages, one of which is Mamal. There is a Shiva temple here, generally considered to be Kashmir’s oldest existing temple dating to the 8th century.

Chandanawri, 16 km from Pahalgam, is the starting point of the Amarthnathyatra which takes place every year in the month of sawn (July- August). The destination is the Amarthnath cave, believed to be the abode of lord Shiva. Although the road from Pahalgam to Chandanwari onwards the track becomes much steeper, being accessible on foot or by pony. 11 km from Chandanwari is the mountain lake of Sheshnag, after which, 13 km away is the last stop, Panchtarni. The Amarthnath cave is 6 km away from there. During the month of Sawan, an ice stalagmite forms a natural Shivling which waxes and wanes with the phases on the moon.Aru, the Wildlife Sanctuary is located close to Pahalgham. The best time to see an animal is September to April and bird viewing from march to August.

Pahalgam is known as trekker’s paradise and some of the popular treks from Pahalgam lead to the Kolahoi Glacier via Aru, Satlanjan and Dudsar Lake and to the high altitude lakes that dot the meadowland and mountain ridges between Pahalgam and Sonamarg. All the gears needed for trekking are available in the market.

Nainital, The Beautiful Hill Station of North India

Nainital, Uttaranchal is famous not just for its green hills or many lakes. It is also famous for its many legends and stories. Hundreds of ancient temples and peaks with astounding views of the mountains in the background add to Nainitial’s magical appeal. The history of this dainty town sails over the surface of the Naini Lake, where oarsmen narrate the stories of the rishis who brought the waters of the sacred Mansarovar River to from Suffocating at times with thousands of tourists, Nainital is also home to Sherwood, one of India’s most prestigious schools.

Nainital Nainital is 34 Km from Kathgodam, the gateway of Kumaon and the terminus of North Eastern Railway. It is 304 km from Delhi, capital of India, and 388 km from Lucknow the State capital. According to the District Gazetteer Nainital is situated at 29 degree 24′ north latitude and 79 degree 28′ east longitude, in a valley of the Gagar range running east and west, which is bounded on the north by the peak of China, which rises to a height of 8.568 feet, continued by the Alma peak (presently known as Snow-View) and the Sher-Ka-Danda to the eastern extremity, where the ridge descends almost to the level of the lake. On the west the rugged hill of Deopatha rises to a height of 7,987 feet, and on the south Ayarpatha attains an elevation of 7,461 feet diminishing gradually towards the east.

While the intervening portion between these two hills is a mass of rocks piled up loosely together which goes by the name of Handi Bandi, and is formed of the transition limestone of Mussoorie. The eastern boundary is the pass through which the surplus water of the lake find an exit, forming the principal source of the Ballia river, which falls into the Gola near Ranibagh. Peaks and hills. The town has the famous lake to which it owes its name. The surface of this lake has an elevation of 1.935 m above sea level. Maximum length & breadth being 1,434 m & 463 respectively.

The depth of this lake is said to range between a maximum 28 meters and a minimum of 6 meters. Most Important Characteristics of the town Nainital has some unique features and physical characteristics. By far the greatest attraction is provided by the lake Naini. Flowing on the base of rising peaks. Cheena, Laria-Kanta, Deo- patha, Snow view and others, the lake presents a view which lingers in memory. All around the lake is wide road, the Mall, now known as G. B. Pant Marg, which is crowded by pedestrian and rickshaw traffic. Mussoorie, the beautiful Hill station in India

Beaches and hill stations have been two eternally famous tourist destinations worldwide. Snow claded mountains of the great Himalayan range, as if a group of white haired old sages, always attracted tourists from every corner of the world. Hill stations are quite a place where serenity of the ambience wins over the human mind and heart.

Gun Hill – Rope way ride is a popular adventurous attraction here. This hill offers a distinct view of Himalayan range namely Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara, Gangotri etc. In the British rule time a gun was mounted at the top of this hill and that was shot at mid-day to confirm the time so that people can adjust their watches. It got its name from there.
Municipal Garden – It is a beautiful garden having an artificial mini lake with boating facility.
Childer’s lodge – It is the highest summit of mussoorie and is located near Tibba.
Canel’s Back Road – You can watch a out-of-world sunset view from here.
Jharipani fall, Bhatta fall, Kempty fall, Nag Devta temple, Musoorie lake, Van Chetna Kendra, Sir George Everest house, Jwalaji temple, Clouse-end etc are other worth-watching places in Mussoorie.

Mahabaleshwar is a very picturesque hill station situated among the natural greenery of Sahyadri mountains. It is said to be the best natural holiday destination in Maharashtra and a compulsory attraction for the top honeymoon packages in India.
Mahabaleshwar is situated at a very favorable location for tourists. It is only 120 kms from Pune and hardly a 6-7 hours drive from Mumbai. There are some very scenic hotels and resorts in Mahabaleshwar which makes it a popular honeymoon holiday destination. It is not only a tourist destination but a religious center for the Hindus too as the famous Mahabaleshwar Temple is situated here and even the place got its name from it. One more famous tourist destination Panchgani is also a neighbouring place. Honey, strawberry and mulberries are produced here in abundance and tourists enjoy their relishing natural taste a lot.
Tourist Spots in Mahabaleshwar, India -
Mount Malcolm – It is a historical structure with magnificent architectural work. It was built in the year 1829 but its still casting its spell on the visitors. It was very famous at the time of british rule.
Pratapgarh Fort – It is only 24 kms from Mahabaleshwar. An enchanting view of coastal Konkan is visible from here. This fort was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji. Bhavani temple & Afzal Khan tomb are other watchable spots.
Bhavani Temple – It is situated on the eastern side of lower fort.
Pratap Garden – It is dedicated to Maharana Pratap and is one of only a few of the gardens in Peth area.
Afzal Khan Tomb – The tower, beneath which the head of Afzal Khan was burried many years ago, is now known as Afzal Khan tomb. A Dargah is situated nearby the tower where an Urs is held every year in the starting months.
Catholic Church – A very old Roman catholic church known as Holy Cross Church is also in Mahabaleshwar which is very popular for its architecture & old fashioned stained-glass windows.
Old Mahabaleshwar – Old Mahabaleshwar is 20 kms from the New Mahabaleshwar. It is brimful with jaw-dropping sceneries and greenery with a height of 1372 mtrs.
Panchganga Mandir – This unique and ancient temple is also known as Old Mahabaleshwar Temple famously. Its name is derived from a natural phenomenon. 5 different rivers joins each other at this very place and that mixed sacred water is called Panchganga. Those five rivers are Krishna, Gayatri, Venna, Savitri & Koyna.
